A hush came over the Soldier Field crowd on Sunday when Caleb Williams went down with a non-contact injury, and for good reason.
The best way to tell the severity of an injury at the outset is often by the reaction of the player. Williams audibly screamed and writhed in pain before being helped off the field without putting any weight on his injured leg.
After being evaluated in the medical tent, Williams took a cart back to the locker room and — after removing the towel over his face — gave a thumbs up to the crowd with tears in his eyes.

Imagine the surprise of everyone in that crowd when they found out hours later that Williams might not be dealing with a serious injury at all. By early Monday, it became clear the Bears quarterback is dealing with a lower-grade hamstring strain, leaving him week-to-week but not forcing coach Ben Johnson to rule him out for Week 3 just yet.
Predictably, the internet had plenty of fun with a reaction from Williams that many characterized as meme-worthy once more details about his injury were reported.
