Nell Burton, the daughter of Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton, just made her modeling debut.
In a campaign for American jeweler Larkspur & Hawk, Nell, 17, poses alongside her mom, 59, adding a layer of family magic to the colorful photo shoot.
It seems fitting that the pair take on this job together, as it celebrates the vintage-inspired brand’s 25th anniversary.
The collection, aptly named The Palette, features an array of colorful gems that cover the entire color spectrum. Even Bonham Carter’s signature wild curls are tinted a pale shade of pink for the photographs.
The brand is known for its use of an 18th-century jewelry design technique called foiling. According to a press release from the brand, designer Emily Satloff “went to her foil archive so she could include 32 proprietary colors, each one holding a memory” to celebrate this milestone.
The collection features Chandelier Earrings ($1,950), a Graduated Rivière Necklace ($4,500) and a Jeu de Paume Bracelet ($1,300).
There is one sentimental Easter egg in the shoot; Burton wears a dazzling necklace, the Sadie Rivière, originally gifted by her grandmother to Bonham Carter.
“Some years ago, my mother wanted to buy something for [my birthday] … We both came to the Larkspur & Hawk showroom in New York, and it was then that I chose the Rivière, which I pretty much wear daily.” She added, “It’s from my mum, it feels like I’m carrying a bit of her wherever I go.”
Helena has been a longtime supporter and friend of Larkspur & Hawk’s designer, Emily Satloff. The brand notes, “Emily envisioned a campaign that would celebrate not only a legacy of craftsmanship and color, but also the creative friendships that have shaped its story.”
Emily further added, “While we work in very different fields, we are both creative, and as such, I could not have imagined a better foundation for producing this fairytale of a campaign.”
The concept of Bonham Carter’s “fantastical, Georgian character” paired with the jewelry flawlessly, considering Larkspur & Hawk’s signature style of creating “designs rooted in history” with modern flair.
Helena shares that she once lost a single earring, having reached out to Emily to inquire about purchasing a replacement. “I like the idea that through the loss of an earring, we found each other,” adding, “They make me happy. It’s the chemistry of the color combining and the foiling,” a nod to the historically Georgian designs.
Though the company is based in New York City, it has an unusually British flair, making the London-based mother-daughter duo ideal representatives for this posh-but-playful milestone campaign.
