Helen Mirren says she’d “absolutely” work with Tom Hardy again “in a f–king heartbeat” following reports of behind-the-scenes “MobLand” drama.
“I love Tom. I think he’s the most amazing actor,” the Oscar-winning actress told Variety in an interview published Thursday.
Mirren noted that her co-star in the Paramount+ crime series just has a “different process” than she does when it comes to acting.
“I’ve learnt over the years that some people get to things faster,” she explained. “As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there. “
Mirren, 80, called Hardy, 48, “a very special person” and “absolutely remarkable,” before reiterating that her support is “genuine and heartfelt.”
The British actress also said she hopes there’s a third season of “MobLand,” which also stars Pierce Brosnan and Paddy Considine.
“When you have powerful artistic people working together, the creative process is challenging,” she explained. “People will get their knickers in a twist as we say.”
“We will go forward, absolutely,” she added, “and it will be even better.”
Last month, multiple reports claimed Hardy was let go from “MobLand” due to “on-set issues.”
Sources claimed Hardy was consistently late to production during the second season. They also claimed he gave frequent script notes, changed dialogue and was upset about the ensemble cast.
In addition, an insider told the Daily Mail that Hardy’s tardy behavior “enraged” Mirren and that she was “getting increasingly frustrated with Tom and his attitude.”
However, sources close to production have since told Variety that Hardy hasn’t been fired from the show and “the door is not closed for Season 3.”

The outlet also reported Guy Ritchie, an executive producer and director on the series, is “pushing” for David Glasser — whose 101 Studios is behind the show — “to make it work.”
Mirren, for her part, broke her silence on the drama by showing support for Hardy.
She shared an Instagram photo of the “Venom” actor and wrote, “Love you now and always.”
Hardy still has not spoken out about the allegations.
In “MobLand,” he plays a fixer for a London crime family. Mirren plays the family’s cunning matriarch.
Hardy actor previously told Esquire he agreed to do “MobLand” because it let him flex “different muscles” in terms of his acting ability.
