Heidi Klum Reveals Look at Spooky “Beginning” of Epic Halloween Costume

Heidi Klum is taking the crown for Queen of Halloween once again. 

The Project Runway host made jaws drop when she stepped out in a head to tail Medusa costume alongside her husband Tom Kaulitz—clad as a warrior she turned to stone, naturally—at her 2025 Halloween party in New York City Oct. 31. And while walking the red carpet at the Hard Rock Hotel: The Venue on Music Row, she and Tom shared just how long this particular couples costume has been in the works.

Just five months, no big deal.

"Everything is hand-painted," Heidi exclusively told E! News before heading into the party. "About 15 people have been working on this, and I think they did a fantastic job."

It only took 10 hours for both of them to get into character, but no detail, from the wired snakes mechanically writhing atop her head to her scaly tail and his completely gray exterior went unattended to.

"I've been thinking about Medusa for quite some time," Heidi, speaking carefully around her terrifying Gorgon teeth, "because I've seen over the years obviously many, many Medusas, and I thought, You know, one day I'm going to try my own...I really wanted to have snakes that were moving, a super-ugly, super-scary face, really ugly teeth, and to be like a really long rattlesnake."

Mission accomplished.

This year, he added, "there's not much I could do other than being the man who got into stone. So that's me and I think they did an amazing job."

But, Heidi noted, somewhat mournfully, "You still look like you."

Of course, Heidi wasn't the only star to turn heads at her annual Halloween festivities. Charli D'Amelio, Coco Jones, Julia Fox, James Charles and Jonathan Van Ness all showed off their boo-tiful costumes for the occasion as well. 

Of course, it's no secret that Heidi—who is mom to kids Leni Klum, 21, Henry, 20, Johan, 18, and Lou, 16, with ex-husband Seal—was planning to go all out for her 2025 party. After all, she revealed that her epic costume was already in the works when October first kicked off. 

Sharing a photo of a 3D mold of her face on Instagram Oct. 1, the 52-year-old wrote, “This is just the beginning.”
