Heat's Kel'el Ware to miss extended time with injury

The Miami Heat have been without second-year center Kel'el Ware for the past two games after the big man discovered discomfort in his right hamstring.

Upon further testing, Ware was diagnosed with a strained hamstring and hasn't been able to suit up for the Heat for the past two games while recovering from the setback.

Now, it appears that Miami will be playing the patient game with the 21-year-old. On Friday, the Heat provided a new update to the seven-footer that currently leads the team in rebounds per game (9.8).

Kel'el Ware to miss at least two more games with hamstring strain

While the Heat prepare to take on the Utah Jazz in their fourth of a five-game road trip, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported that Kel'el Ware will miss the back-to-back games that Miami will play over the weekend.

With this news, Ware's next chance to play will be on Wednesday, Jan. 25, when the Heat return home to take on the Orlando Magic.

As of recently, Ware has seen a decrease in playing time over January. Once Bam Adebayo returned to the lineup in mid-November from his toe injury, Ware went from being an everyday starter to averaging 20.2 minutes per game since the start of the new year.

In his absence, expect Adebayo, alongside Nikola Jovic, to take on a heavier workload for the Heat.
