Heat predicted to trade Andrew Wiggins for $501M future Hall of Famer, 2-time NBA champion

The Miami Heat are looking like a serious team that could make the NBA Finals next summer. They have made several great moves this offseason with aspirations of finally getting over the hump.

Miami has made some big moves, and it all started by trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“The Milwaukee Bucks are trading franchise icon Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks (including No. 13 in Tuesday's NBA draft), one pick swap and one second-round pick, sources told ESPN. The Heat are sending to Milwaukee unprotected first-rounders in 2031 and 2033 along with No. 13, a pick swap in 2030 and a 2033 second-rounder, according to sources," ESPN's Shams Charania wrote.

They currently have one roster spot left and are really trying to go all out this year. A CBS Sports prediction has the Heat trading Nikola Jovic, Andrew Wiggins and a draft pick for Houston Rockets’ Kevin Durant.

“Miami receives: Kevin Durant. Houston receives: Andrew Wiggins, Nikola Jovic and a 2029 first-round pick (MIA),” CBS wrote.

This would be an absolute blockbuster deal of all blockbusters. It would make the Heat even more dangerous. With Durant’s name coming up in trade discussions this summer, it is not a far-fetched idea.

“Whether or not the Rockets look to continue their partnership with Durant is the big question at large, especially since they don't view him as an “untouchable” talent in trade talks on their roster. Houston viewed the opportunity to acquire Durant as a way to upgrade from Jalen Green and bridge the gaps in their lineup to contend in the West, but by no means was this addition viewed as a long-term commitment,” NBA insider Brett Siegel wrote.

The Heat have been hesitant to trade Jovic and Wiggins, but this would be the one exception, as Durant is one of the best to ever do it. Miami with Bam Adebayo, Klay Thompson, Antetokounmpo and Durant would be one of the best teams assembled.

Durant has made $501 million throughout his career so far. Houston is still in an interesting spot with what it wants to do. Having Durant makes them pursue a championship now, even though they aren’t necessarily ready, but trading him would allow them a few years before fully pursuing a serious championship run.
