Heat predicted to sign $37M ex-Lakers injury-prone veteran to pair with Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Miami Heat are a team with eyes all over them heading into the season, as they are a potential team to go all the way. They have added Giannis Antetokounmpo and Klay Thompson in the same offseason, making them an absolute juggernaut.

The Heat still have one spot left to fill on their roster. Former Miami veteran Gabe Vincent has had some people within the organization talk about potentially getting him to sign.

“I do think the former Heat guard Gabe Vincent has some fans in this building and some fans on that roster who would love for him to be back into the fold, right now it's looking like Miami is not a outcome for Gabe Vincent. But I do think Miami's roster isn't exactly done and the guard position will be something they look at moving forward," Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer said.

The Heat had been in contact with guard John Konchar, but the New York Knicks signed him to a deal.

“Knicks made offer that Konchar accepted tonight, as Shams said. Heat told Konchar it would get back to him this week with decision on whether there would be offer after 2 conversations on recent days, but he decided to join NBA champs instead of waiting on Heat to decide,” Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson wrote.

With that, Miami will likely be resetting. Bleacher Report’s Grant Hughes believes Gabe Vincent will be signed by the Heat.

“Gabe Vincent's post-Miami Heat career wasn't anything special, but there are still a few good reasons for the 30-year-old guard and his former team to reunite. For starters, the Heat are still light at the guard spots. Though they did well to pull in the shooting they'll need around Giannis Antetokounmpo, Davion Mitchell is the only real point guard on the roster,” Hughes wrote.

Vincent played some of the best basketball of his career with the Heat. Miami is going to be a very good team this season, and adding more shooting to the roster is never a bad thing.

Vincent has made $37 million in his career. The Heat still have some time to survey their options, but Vincent is looking for the right opportunity after injuries plagued his time with the Los Angeles Lakers.
