The Buffalo Bills suffered a heartbreaking 13-12 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles in their Week 17 clash on Sunday night. The loss handed the AFC East title to New England, ending the Bills' streak of five consecutive division titles.
The Bills headed into the fourth quarter trailing the Eagles 13-0. Reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen brought the Bills to 13-12 after his two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
Allen had a chance to win the game for Buffalo as he tried to locate receiver Khalil Shakir in the end zone for a two-point conversion with five seconds left on the clock. However, the Bills quarterback missed his mark and the Eagles secured a one-point win on the night.

“Yeah, I just missed. Rolling left, I’ve got to get him a better ball,” Allen said. “It just comes down to us executing, making one more play than they did. And obviously you saw that we didn’t make that last play,” he added, before correcting himself. “I didn’t make that last play.”The Bills quarterback had a tough night against the Eagles as the NFL MVP didn't throw any touchdown passes and was also sacked five times in the contest. Bills coach Sean McDermott defends "best quarterback" Josh Allen after Eagles loss
Although Josh Allen failed to take his team over the line against the Eagles, he became the first NFL player to reach 300 touchdowns before turning 30 during Sunday's contest.
Despite Allen's failed attempt in the dying seconds of the game, Bills coach Sean McDermott backed him as the best quarterback in the league.
“He’s the best quarterback in the league and I’d take him 1,000 out of 1,000 times to make that throw, and he’ll make it,” McDermott said.Allen also suffered a foot issue during the game as his right foot, which he injured against the Cleveland Browns last week, became sore. Although the tests on the foot came back negative, it'll be interesting to see if McDermott risks his quarterback for the final game of the season with the divison already decided.
