@LakeShowYo I went to the University of Iowa and watched Caitlin Clark and Cooper DeJean in person, so I know all about Exciting Whites. Let’s go Lakers! This team will be terrifying when fully healthy.

The reference to Caitlin Clark is quite the comparison for Austin Reaves. Clark is a two-time All-Star who is arguably the best shooter in the WNBA. Reaves, though, is proving he is one of the best in the NBA after stringing together the most impressive stretch of his career.
Reaves showed that without Luka Doncic and LeBron James, he can be a viable No. 1 option for the Lakers. Despite the attention he has been getting on defense, AR has thrived in the role as the go-to guy on offense.
Austin Reaves showed his clutch gene in the nail-biting win against the Timberwolves. He missed multiple shots late in the fourth quarter before eventually sinking the floater that pushed LA to a 116-115 victory.
Austin Reaves hits third game-winning shot of his career
Austin Reaves is no stranger to last-second shots in his career. With or without the LA Lakers’ superstars, he can be relied on to take pressure-packed attempts.
Reaves’ first game-winning shot was on Dec. 15, 2021, in Dallas. LeBron James and Anthony Davis played, but it was AR who sank the Mavericks. AR hit a 25-footer with 0.9 seconds off a kick-out pass from Russell Westbrook. Reaves’ basket pushed the Lakers to a 107-104 overtime win.
The second Austin Reaves game-winning basket was on Dec. 25, 2024. Reaves and Co. were again on the road when AR delivered another clutch shot for his team. James and Davis were again on the floor when the Lakers traveled to the Bay Area for a marquee Christmas Day showdown against the Warriors.
Golden State rallied to tie the game at 113-113 after Steph Curry made a triple from 31 feet. The Lakers responded with a play for LeBron James, who could not receive the ball due to Draymond Green’s stifling defense.
Reaves came to the rescue with a drive against Andrew Wiggins. After the Lakers cleared the floor for him, he promptly attacked the paint to make a layup.
On Wednesday, he added another clutch game to his resume.
