Nikola Jokic had a masterclass game on Wednesday against the LA Clippers. Jokic dropped 55 points, 12 rebounds and six assists to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 130-116 win. The three-time MVP was unstoppable throughout the contest and toyed with the Clippers' defense.

On Thursday's episode of FanDuel TV's "Run It Back," former NBA star John Wall appeared as a guest. The former Washington Wizards star highlighted a frustrating aspect of Jokic's dominance.

“He makes it look so effortless like he doesn't care about basketball. That's the frustrating part. You got guys that put all the work in and he's just out there floating,” Wall said. “He just makes the game so easy and make it so effortless.”

Wall also mentioned how Jokic's playstyle has benefitted his new teammates. The former Kentucky star said that Cameron Johnson and Tim Hardaway Jr. have started to get more open looks from three. Hardaway came off the bench against the Clippers and had 12 points on 60% shooting from deep.

Nikola Jokic has consistently proven that he's one of the best players in the league. Early this season, the Serbian star has averaged 28.8 ppg, 13.1 rbg and 10.9 apg to lead the Nuggets to a 9-2 record.

Ty Lue's plan backfired when Nikola Jokic dominated the game with his scoring

There's no doubt that Nikola Jokic is an elite scorer. However, he does many other things on the floor that sometimes get overlooked. Aside from scoring, he also rebounds and facilitates while he's on the floor.

After the contest, head coach Ty Lue admitted that it was the Clippers' plan to eliminate Jokic's passing. According to the head coach, the team wanted the big man to focus on his scoring and prevent other players from getting momentum on the floor.

But that plan backfired, and the Clippers had to deal with Jokic's elite offensive arsenal.

“We planned to try to double him once he got going. But our game plan was to, you know, make him score and just take away his passing, take everybody else out of the game. I thought the first half, we did a good job with that. We knew Jamal Murray would be more aggressive in the second half, but I didn’t think he would score 55,” Lue said.

Lue didn't think that Nikola Jokic wold score that much on them.

“You know, he made some threes. He played like a guard when Zubac was on him. Pin downs and all that stuff, which is tough for Zu to try to, you know, try to navigate through. Then, when we go smaller on him, we just post up, and then so it’s just a tough cover, but I didn’t think it would get 55.”

Even after that, Lue commended the effort the team had made in the first half. The Clippers' coach said that the third quarter has been the issue for the team this year.

The next game between the two teams will be on Jan. 30, in Denver.
