'He's a child': Paul Finebaum has strong words for Lane Kiffin amid SEC lawsuit

The ongoing feud between Paul Finebaum and Lane Kiffin took another turn on Saturday.

Hours before LSU will host Clemson in Baton Rouge, the ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum ripped the controversial college football coach for his willingness to add former NFL players to the Tigers roster.

The jaw-dropping moment on SEC Nation will definitely prompt a response from Kiffin. Finebaum's commentary went in on how LSU has conducted business against the wishes of the SEC and commissioner Greg Sankey, even after the conference barred NFL players from being signed by teams.

"In a time when there is absolute chaos and morale decay in our game (Sankey) stopped what would have been one of the worst moments in the history," Finebaum said.

"What’s interesting is the other side of it. We can all wrap our arms around Lane Kiffin and say he’s lovable, and he’s a great coach, but in the end, he’s a child. He’s a 51-year-old man behaving like a 16-year-old. And the worst part — there are no adults in the room."

The remarks went viral Saturday as Kiffin appeared on College GameDay. The LSU figurehead told Pat McAfee, “Between you and (me), we’re about the two most hated people there are.”

What came off as a joke carried some weight in the situation. Finebaum's words represent the thoughts of the majority of people in the country. 

"I thought all college campuses have an athletic director, Finebaum added. "The (LSU) president, Wade Rousse, has been nowhere to be found. The governor is calling all the shots and I wonder if there’s any supervision. Does LSU have a board of supervisors? Is someone in charge?"

Kiffin said he decided not to allow Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris playing time this week against Clemson. Wright and Harris had signed with the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints, respectively, but didn't make the final 53-man cuts, allowing them to return to college.
