The New York Giants are heading into the fresh season with a bang. They've got a new head coach, of course, in John Harbaugh. They also have young quarterback Jackson Dart poised to make noise, or at least try to, when he gets to step onto the field.
The Giants also have a superstar wide receiver in Malik Nabers. Unfortunately, he's still recovering from a torn ACL and meniscus in his right knee, and his status for Week 1 is uncertain, but he should be good to go for the majority of the season.
When he is ready, Nabers could have a powerful new running mate on the field.
Malachi Fields could be a strong complement to Malik Nabers
In a feature out on Saturday, Matt Bowen, Mike Clay, Dan Graziano, Pamela Maldonado and Jordan Reid of ESPN have unleashed a feature with their take on the NFL rookies ahead of the new season.
For the Giants, they love Malachi Fields, with Bowen naming him his No. 1 under-the-radar rookie pick.
"Fields has the physical profile at 6-foot-4, 218 pounds to win one-on-one targets as the boundary X receiver," he notes. "Plus, the third-rounder can get the ball on deep in-breakers and underneath throws. Fields is pushing for the No. 2 role in New York, and his skill set should complement that of WR1 Malik Nabers."
Just think about what another strong wide receiver could do for this Harbaugh offense. If Nabers can stay healthy and have Fields as a complement, it will really help Dart make this team move.
