Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has lavished praise on Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford. The England international has been thoroughly impressive for the Blaugrana this season for Hansi Flick's side.

Many were skeptical when Barcelona loaned in Rashford from Manchester United in the summer after his struggles. However, the 28-year-old has proven to be a brilliant addition to the Blaugrana.

The versatile attacker has scored five goals and produced seven assists in 13 appearances for Flick's side this campaign. Veteran keeper Wojciech Szczęsny has heaped praise on the English attacker and labelled him as a 'complete player'.

Szczęsny has claimed that he thought Rashford was a special player when he saw him as a teenager during his Arsenal days. The Polish keeper said, as quoted by Barca Blaugranes:

"He’s an excellent player, I love him a lot. Direct in his play, attacks with speed, and he’s contributed to a lot of goals. I think he’s a complete player, and I remember him since he was 18 or 19 in the Premier League. I knew he was special back then."

He added:

“He has fewer goals than he deserves, because in training, when he’s having a good day, you can’t stop him. If he shows that magical right foot more in matches, he’ll be very dangerous.”

Barcelona have the option to sign Rashford permanently from Manchester United next summer for a £30.3 million fee. The 28-year-old made 426 appearances for the Red Devils scoring 138 goals and providing 78 assists.

Barcelona considering summer move for 23-year-old star: Reports

Barcelona are reportedly plotting a move for red-hot Strasbourg attacker Joaquín Panichelli as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski. The Argentine striker has been in scintillating form for Strasbourg following his move from Alaves in the summer.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo via Tribal Football, Hansi Flick's side are closely monitoring Panichelli. He has scored nine goals in 10 games for Strasbourg following his reported €16 million switch from Alaves.

Strasbourg reportedly have no intention of letting Panichelli depart following his impressive start at the club. They see him as a perfect replacement for Emanuel Emegha who will join Chelsea next summer.

Barcelona will have a huge void to fill when Robert Lewandowski leaves the club and his current deal expires next summer. The 37-year-old has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.
