Fans are still coming to terms with R-Truth's shocking WWE return at Money in the Bank 2025, just days after he announced he was leaving the sports entertainment juggernaut. Amid this, there has been much discussion about what led to his return, with Hugo Savinovich now boldly claiming that The Game never wanted Truth back.

MITB 2025 was a noteworthy premium live event featuring several memorable moments. However, WWE saved the most shocking twist for the end by bringing back R-Truth after days of fans' backlash regarding the news of his contract not being renewed. Shortly after, it was also confirmed that Truth would now go by his real-life name, Ron Killings, and potentially adopt a much more serious persona.

During the MITB 2025 post-show press conference, Triple H was asked about what led to Truth's return. However, the Chief Content Officer did not give a clear answer, which only fueled speculation regarding the backstage situation. Now, wrestling veteran Hugo Savinovich has shared his take on what may have occurred behind the scenes.

In a chat with Lucha Libre Online, Savinovich claimed that Triple H was responsible for R-Truth's firing, and as such, wasn't happy to see him back.

“Triple H is not happy about Truth coming back. Why? Because he fired him. But Nick Khan overruled him. Triple H isn’t happy. What annoys me most is that in the press conference, when USA Today asked him directly about Truth, he replied, 'Did you like the show? Then that was part of the work.' Come on. Even a child knows better. Nobody’s buying that this was scripted. He insulted their intelligence.” (H/T - Ringside News)

What made WWE bring back R-Truth?

On a recent edition of his Wrestling Observer Radio, veteran journalist Dave Meltzer spoke about what prompted WWE to bring back R-Truth on such short notice.

Meltzer explained that the fan uproar was so intense that those in the promotion had no choice but to cancel the original plans and accommodate Truth's return.

"He's back because of the fans, that's the deal. He's back because of the fans, they saw the outcry. They basically tore apart what they were gonna do tonight when they brought him back and wanted to have the big moment," Meltzer said.

It will be interesting to see what lies ahead for Truth, as he is sure to get a rematch against John Cena following their first clash at Saturday Night's Main Event 2025.
