Keith Sweat is trending online after his viral comments on modern and single women. The singer’s words were captured in a video where he was spotted performing at an unknown venue. He seemingly criticized modern women for not being able to perform general activities such as cooking.

The music producer and songwriter was previously married to reality TV star Lisa Wu. According to Coming Soon, the pair is also the parents of three children.

The Art of Dialogue obtained the viral video of Keith Sweat’s comments, and they shared the same through their official handle on X on June 8, 2025. Sweat said in the clip:

“I done met too many entitlement things going on. I can’t. You got to bring something to the table to get something for me. They don’t want to cook no more. I wash my own clothes. You got to do something.”

Keith Sweat also confirmed, while commenting on modern women, that he is single. The Pastor Brown star repeated that he washes his clothes, adding that his mother taught him how to iron the clothes.

He further stated:

“I’m good. Sometimes at night time. Hey friend, you know what I say?”

Netizens reacted to Keith’s comments. Some of them described them as misogynistic, while others made fun of everything that the artist said on stage.

Keith Sweat was married to Lisa Wu in the past

The New York City native has opted to keep his personal life away from the limelight throughout his career. However, he was in the headlines a few years ago for his marriage to actress Lisa Wu.

According to Tuko, Sweat was Wu’s first husband, and she later exchanged vows with NFL player Ed Hartwell for six years.

Lisa Wu and Keith Sweat’s children, Justin and Jordan, have been featured alongside their mother at the red carpet of certain events.

Although detailed information on Jordan’s current profession remains unknown, Jordan has a few films in his credits, including The Stepmother and its two sequels.

Lisa and Keith were married between 1992 and 2002. Around seven years after their divorce, the former approached the Superior Court of Fulton County to seek primary custody of her children.

The legal documents obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution stated that Wu was willing to engage Sweat while making any decision for the welfare of the children.

The primary custody of the kids was initially granted to Keith Sweat.

Judge Cynthia D. Wright said in the final divorce decree that the children’s lives were not structured, reportedly due to Wu’s habit of spending a lot on herself and frequently staying out of town.

In 2013, Keith Sweat appeared for an interview with Black America Web, where he opened up on his plans to get married again and said:

“That’s up in the air. I mean I’m not against it, but I’m not sure about that. It’s got to be real extra, believe that.”

Keith Sweat has not announced a new album so far, and his last major project was Playing for Keeps, which came out in 2018 under the record labels Elektra and Rhino.

Apart from this, Sweat also released a single titled Lay You Down last year.
