Former LA Clippers and Chris Paul parted ways on Dec. 3, catching many by surprise. According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne on Tuesday, Paul hosted a Halloween party and had a few players in attendance.

“A few nights later, after a win over New Orleans, Paul and his wife hosted a Halloween party for players and staffers in a club at the Intuit Dome. It was meant as a culture-building exercise, and afterward Frank and others commended Paul for doing it, despite only a handful of players attending.”

Fans on social media responded to the report. They ridiculed the Clippers for mistreating the 12-time All-Star.

Chris Paul was sent home by the Clippers in the middle of a five-game road trip. Team President Frank Lawrence in an announcement exonerated Paul for the team’s poor performance and thanked him for his services to the organization.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Paul and the Clippers organization clashed due to differences in leadership styles. He added that team coach Ty Lue rejected the chance to have a meeting with the “point god” to iron out their perceived differences.

The 40-year-old came off mostly from the bench and averaged 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

Chris Paul opens up on shock Clippers exit

Chris Paul spoke to “People” magazine on Dec. 9 about his feelings on being moved on by the Clippers.

"Stuff's been a little crazy in the past few days -- to say the least," Paul told People.com in an interview published Tuesday. "But honestly, I'm home. My daughter had tryouts yesterday. My nephew had a basketball game. My son has a game coming up on the 12th." "I'm actually at peace with everything," he told People.com. "More than anything, I'm excited about being around and getting a chance to play a small role in whatever anything looks like next."

Paul agreed to return to the Clippers on a one-year, roughly $3.6 million deal for the 2025-26 NBA season, his 21st and likely final season in the league. The move was a homecoming, as he had starred there during the “Lob City” era (2011-2017) and wanted to finish his career near his family in Los Angeles.
