Hailey Van Lith shows her potential in Sun debut after Sky parted ways

It's been a bit of a whirlwind week for Hailey Van Lith.

The talented lefty guard was waived by the Chicago Sky as they got their regular season roster in order, and that led to her being claimed by the Connecticut Sun.

So a quick move to her new team right before they opened the season on Friday night against the high-powered New York Liberty.

The game itself didn't go well for an overmatched Sun team, which lost 106-75.

For Van Light, though? It was a night that showed her potential.

These stats came even with the fact that she had just arrived to join her new teammates.

Give Van Lith a little more time and she'll continue to find a groove.

And the reality of joining the Sun is that Van Lith will get opportunities. This isn't a team expected to compete for a championship this season. The best thing the Sun can do is figure out which players deserve to be a part of their future.

Van Lith is going to get playing time, and if she continues to be efficient while also setting up her teammates, she could bolster her future WNBA chances.
