Gypsy Rose Blanchard Explains Decision to Wear Wigs While Showing Off Natural Hair
Gypsy Rose Blanchard is sharing a peek at her beauty routine.
The 35-year-old got candid about the upcoming cosmetic treatments she plans to get this summer, including the one she’s especially curious about that’ll treat fine lines and hyperpigmentation.
“I wanted to let y’all know that part of my summer glow-up is actually a big thing coming up,” she said in a July 29 Instagram video. “I am kind of nervous about it. I am actually gonna be getting what is called Glowtox—and what it is. It’s a professional-grade chemical peel and tox.”
But that’s not the only cosmetic change she’s making, as Blanchard also revealed that she’s getting lip filler.
“I don’t want anything crazy, OK?” she said with a laugh. “So I’m not gonna go, like, insane with the filler, but just like a little fuller, just very natural, very subtle.”
While Blanchard—who welcomed 19-month-old daughter Aurora with boyfriend Ken Urker in December 2024—is excited to plump her lips, she admitted that she had a bit of a phobia of needles.
“I’m nervous because I’m like, ‘A needle in my lip,’” she continued. “It’s gonna freak me out. But I have a lot of confidence in who I’m going with.”
In the years since she was released from prison—where she served seven years for her role in the 2015 year death of her mom Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard—Blanchard has been playing around with her look, experimenting with various cosmetic procedures, weight loss methods and her hair. In fact, while she has been known to wear wigs, she revealed that she’s planning on getting K-tip extensions as part of her summer beauty refresh.
And Blanchard is not one to keep her transformations a secret. Earlier this year, she revealed the key to her weight loss, noting that it wasn’t a result of her exercise routine, diet or GLP-1s.

“OK y’all, I’m not gatekeeping. My weight loss came from life circumstances,” she captioned an Instagram video on March 4. “After being released two years ago my lifestyle changed a lot—from commissary junk food to home-cooked meals and trying new foods.”
She continued, “I wasn’t actively trying to lose weight. My whole life just changed and adjusted to freedom.”
