Why Gwyneth Paltrow Thinks Her Ski Crash Trial Was “Ridiculous”
Gwyneth Paltrow is filled with glee now that her kids have grown up.
The Oscar winner detailed the dynamic she has with her and ex-husband Chris Martin’s kids Apple Martin, 20, and Moses Martin, 19, now that they’re both “incredible adults.”
“I'm really enjoying this phase,” Gwyneth exclusively told E! News in an interview airing tonight, May 12, at 11 p.m. “I love the adult children that I have. They're so funny and fun to be with.”
Noting that her kids are in college, the 52-year-old added, “It's a little hard that they're not under my roof. I miss them, but it's also really thrilling to see these incredible adults.”
But as her children grow up, Gwyneth—who is also stepmom to husband Brad Falchuk’s kids Isabella, 19, and Brody, 18—shared that her Apple and Moses have expressed interest in following in her and Chris’ footsteps to pursue careers in entertainment.
“They are definitely artist souls,” she continued. “I do think that [a] mix of structure and art is really coming through in who they are now. They're both academic, and yet they have these beautiful free spirits and I think they will pursue art, which I think is wonderful.”
In terms of her own spirit, the Iron Man actress—who has partnered with Genesis House in New York City to launch the immersive nature experience “The Forest Within”—reflected on the lessons she learned while raising Apple and Moses.

“Parenting is a series of shifting and a series of letting go and a series of having to be agile,” Gwyneth explained. “I felt like every time I had one idea of parenting like, ‘Oh, I'm comfortable with this now,’ then they'd be out of diapers or they go into the next phase. There has to be an agility around how you approach it.”
One of the biggest lessons she has learned in her role as a mom, though, is the value of maintaining your own identity.
“I learned it's important, as a woman, not to totally forget or abandon yourself when you become a mother,” she shared. “It's so all-encompassing and so beautiful to have children and to surrender to that.”
The Shakespeare in Love actress added, “It’s important to remember that you have an inner life and you have your own values and priorities because they do go off. It's hard to imagine when they're little that they will, but they do. It's important to have built that relationship with yourself along the way.”
