WWE Superstar Gunther continues to be the ultimate troll as he posted a social media update mocking a current champion. The 38-year-old has been boasting about retiring John Cena since Saturday Night's Main Event.
On the latest edition of Monday Night RAW, CM Punk came out to confront the former Imperium leader. The two stars came face-to-face before The Ring General left the squared circle. On his way out, the former World Heavyweight Champion did the "You Can't See Me" hand gesture, mocking John Cena and The Second City Saint simultaneously.
Earlier today, Gunther took to Instagram to share pictures of himself from the RAW segment, taking a dig at the current World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and The Cenation Leader. In the caption, he referred to himself as "untouchable."
"Untouchable," he wrote. You can check out the Instagram post below:
CM Punk defeated Gunther at WWE SummerSlam to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Although Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract moments later to dethrone him, The Best in the World won back the gold after The Visionary was forced to vacate the title due to injury. His face-off with The Ring General on RAW could be a tease to a potential rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship down the line.
Former WWE Champion praised Gunther's heel work
Gunther recently received massive praise from former two-time WWE Champion The Miz. In an interview on UNLIKELY with Adrian Hernandez, he hailed the fellow RAW star for his work as a heel performer.
The A-lister claimed that every babyface in the company wanted to work with the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion. He added that the Austrian had a very special talent that enabled him to make The Miz feel like a babyface during their feud.
"Every good guy wants to work a guy like him because he has such immense heat and such great ability. He hits hard. He's a type of person that can make every bad guy turn into a good guy. Hence me. When I fought him, it was bad guy versus bad guy. And guess what? He turned me into the good guy, which doesn't happen very often. And it takes a very special talent to do that, and he was able to do that," The Miz said.Gunther is among the most hated heel characters on the WWE roster. It remains to be seen what plans the wrestling promotion has in store for him going forward.
