Gunther came out on Monday Night RAW following John Cena's loss, and it's safe to say that nobody is happy with him, but neither does he care. He had a backstage confrontation with a 53-year-old legend before being told to exit the arena as he was done for the night.
This week on RAW, Gunther's mission was to make everybody angry, letting the Cenation know that their hero tapped out and gave up like a "little b***h", courtesy of him. He was about to exit the main stage, only to come back twice and mock the crowd. He went backstage and crossed the Gorilla Position area before getting into a brief confrontation with Otis and Akira Tozawa.
Following this, he got into a backstage confrontation with the 53-year-old legend R-Truth, who told him that he was a piece of crap. Gunther simply laughed it off and walked away before a furious Adam Pearce told him off for walking over John Cena's legacy when he knew he wasn't coming back. That was the end of the night for The Ring General, or so we thought.
Following this, he got into a backstage confrontation with AJ Styles, whom he mocked on the way out. This was seemingly a tease of him being AJ Styles' final opponent, as The Phenomenal One confirmed that he plans to retire next year.
One has to wonder what lies ahead for The Ring General going forward now that he has hit one of the biggest milestones of his career. This is despite the fact that he is a two-time World Heavyweight Champion, a King of the Ring winner, the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time, and the man who retired Goldberg. This could be another huge cap in his already incredible CV, and things seem to be getting more interesting.
