Gunther claimed that he has real-life heat in WWE following his victory over John Cena at Saturday Night's Main Event. John Cena tapped out to The Ring General this past Saturday night in the final match of his illustrious career.

Speaking on TMZ's Inside the Ring podcast, the veteran discussed people being upset that he submitted Cena in his final match. The former champion suggested that there were people in WWE angry about how Cena's career ended and challenged them to do something about it.

"I know a lot of people were not happy with what happened on Saturday and how it happened. I know a lot of people in the company were not happy with that, but that is fine. If anyone has got an issue with that, I think I am very easy to find," he said.

The former leader of Imperium mocked fans this past Monday night on WWE RAW and boasted about forcing John Cena to tap out. RAW General Manager Adam Pearce kicked the 38-year-old out of the building following his controversial promo.

Vince Russo questions WWE's plans for Gunther

Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently shared his thoughts on the rumors that Gunther would be retiring Brock Lesnar from in-ring competition next year.

Speaking on The Coach and Bro show, Russo noted that the former Intercontinental Champion had lost to Sami Zayn in the past and suggested that disqualified him as a serious challenge to Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate was in action during the Men's WarGames match at Survivor Series 2025, and his team emerged victorious.

"What would possess you to think that Gunther can beat Brock Lesnar when he lost to Sami Zayn? Like, seriously, the guy lost to Sami Zayn. He's going to beat Brock Lesnar? The guy lost to Jey Uso. He's going to beat Brock Lesnar? In what universe is that going to happen?" he said.

Triple H was loudly booed by wrestling fans after John Cena tapped out in his final match. It will be fascinating to see what WWE has planned for Gunther in the weeks ahead on RAW.
