Gunther was the first one out on Monday Night RAW following the retirement match of John Cena, where he made the greatest of all time tap out. He broke his silence with a brutal message.

All eyes were on Gunther as public enemy #1 in the WWE Universe. Fans are still reeling and in shock from the end of Saturday Night's Main Event, where John Cena would do what he hadn't done for decades - tap out. In doing so, he "gave up", although there are several different interpretations of Cena's decision to tap out, with many believing that it was far deeper than the "just give up" message that a lot of people interpreted it to be.

Either way, when Gunther came out on RAW, the entire arena was booing him and was furious. He seemed to be fueled by this energy, and his first words were, "When John Cena tapped out, he gave up like a little b***h". He walked away but came back, standing on the announcer's desk and shouting, "I made John Cena tap out like a little b***h. It is my time now. I will forever be the man who made John Cena give up." But believe it or not, this wasn't even the end of the segment as he came back a third time to rub it in. The cameras followed him as he went backstage.

After crossing Gorilla Position, he had a moment with Akira Tozawa and Otis of the Alpha Academy before the legend R-Truth confronted him and called him a piece of crap. Adam Pearce wasn't particularly happy either that The Ring General was walking all over John Cena's legacy, especially when he knew he wasn't coming back. The RAW General Manager sent Gunther towards the exit.

As he left, there was another major tease of a showdown with a superstar who is retiring next year.
