Guerschon Yabusele takes the definition of big fella to an extreme level for the New York Knicks.
And in their season opener, with Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson hurting, Yabusele will take on a big role, too.
Yabusele is a former first-round pick of the Boston Celtics who went overseas for a handful of years, starred for Real Madrid, played for France in the 2024 Olympics and then returned to the NBA last season with the Philadelphia 76ers.
With the 'Sixers, Yabusele averaged 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 38.0% from 3-point range.
A season ago, Yabusele was officially 265 pounds on his 6-foot-8 frame.
This season, Yabusele has put on weight.

What does Guerschon Yabusele weigh?
Guerschon Yabusele enters the 2025-26 NBA season with his weight at 283 pounds.
That's according to Zach Braziller of the New York Post.
Knicks head coach Mike Brown had this to say about Yabusele's weight, via Braziller: “I did not ask him to put on weight or take off weight. That’s something that our performance people talk to him about.”

Heaviest players in NBA
This season's new data isn't out yet.
But last season, only four players were heavier than the 283 pounds that Yabusele is at currently. Those were Zach Edey (305), Jusuf Nurkic (290), Nikola Jokic (284) and Zion Williamson (284).
Zion is noticeably slimmer this season, so he'll probably drop below.
Other players in this range were Brook Lopez (282), Donovan Clingan (280), Joel Embiid (280) and Andre Drummond (279).
All of those players, aside from Zion, are at least 6-foot-11, unlike Yabusele's 6-foot-8.
