The GTA 5 Michael actor, Ned Luke, has once again been swatted, marking what appears to be the eighth such incident in just over a year. What made this latest episode stand out wasn’t just the interruption itself, but the uncomfortable familiarity between Luke and the responding officers, one of whom appeared to know him by name after so many repeated calls.

Read on to learn more about it.

GTA 5 Michael actor livestream incident explained

The most recent incident took place last week while Ned Luke was live on Twitch, streaming GTA Online alongside Red Dead Redemption voice actor Rob Wiethoff. Roughly 30 minutes into the stream, police officers arrived at Luke’s home after receiving a false report.

In a clip that quickly went viral, one of the officers can be heard calling out:

“You’re being swatted again!”

While they entered the room, the tone was calm, almost casual, suggesting this was far from the first time law enforcement had responded to Luke’s address.

After a short and friendly exchange, officers confirmed there was no threat and left. The GTA 5 Michael actor then continued streaming for another hour and a half as if nothing had happened.

Why does this keep happening

Swatting involves falsely reporting a serious crime to police with the intent of triggering an armed response at someone’s location, often while they’re livestreaming. It’s widely recognized as extremely dangerous, especially in the United States, where such calls can escalate quickly.

GTA 5 Michael actor has been open about the reason he keeps getting targeted. His private information, including his home address, was leaked online some time ago, making him an easy and repeated target.

Based on his own public statements, this was at least the eighth swatting incident since late 2023. That number helps explain why officers now seem unusually relaxed when responding and why one appeared to be on a first-name basis with the 67-year-old actor.

A pattern stretching back months

This isn’t a new issue for the GTA 5 Michael actor. In November 2023, he revealed he had been swatted on Thanksgiving, stating at the time that it was already the sixth occurrence. Just weeks later, on December 29, 2023, police contacted him again and asked him to step outside his home following another false report.

Each incident follows a similar pattern: a livestream, a sudden police response, brief confusion, and then confirmation that the call was fake.

Legal consequences are finally catching up

There may finally be some light at the end of the tunnel. On December 27, GTA V actor Luke posted on Instagram that at least one individual involved in swatting him is now facing federal charges. According to the GTA 5 Michael actor, the case is scheduled to go to court in January 2026.

His message was blunt and frustrated, but clear that progress is being made. Luke also suggested that additional names connected to the swatting incidents have been identified and passed along to authorities.
