The final began with four straight holds of throw between the pair, before the first break came from Dobey in Leg Five with a 12 darter to move 3-2 ahead in a race to eight. O’Connor then hit back by winning back-to-back legs in a total of 32 darts to move halfway to victory, before Dobey squared the tie up at 4apiece in Leg Eight with a 17 dart hold of throw. The tie again saw four straight holds of throw between the pair, before Dobey moved within one of victory in Leg 13 with a 16-dart break of throw which was then followed by a 15 dart hold to seal an 8-6 victory and pick up a ninth career PDC title as well as the £15,000 top prize.
