Google co-founder Sergey Brin has been linked to the purchase of Lake Tahoe’s most expensive home in what appears to be an attempt to flee California’s crushing “billionaire tax.”

Brin has ties to the newly created Alpine Bay LLC, which bought the sprawling waterfront mansion for a cool $42 million, Bloomberg News reported.

The Nevada home sits just across the California border — putting it just out of reach of a 5% tax on the state’s billionaires that was recently proposed in a ballot measure.
