“The Golden Bachelor” alum Gerry Turner has found a buyer for his sprawling Indiana lake house—less than four months after putting the property on the market amid his ongoing battle with cancer.
Turner, 74, who starred in the first season of “The Bachelor” spinoff in 2023, put the 2,624-square-foot property on the market at the start of July, just over one year after he and his former spouse, Theresa Nist, announced they were ending their three-month marriage.
Initially, the home was listed for $739,900; however, Turner slashed that asking price to $719,900 just a few weeks later.
Now, the home has found a new buyer, with property records revealing that the dwelling is under a contingent offer, meaning that the former reality TV star has accepted an offer; however, certain conditions must be met before that deal can close.
It is currently unclear what offer Turner has accepted for the four-bedroom home—which he originally said he would vacate shortly after marrying Nist, with the duo revealing that they had planned to move to Charleston, SC, together before he was diagnosed with cancer.
The reality TV personality had appeared to fall head over heels in love with Nist during their appearance on “The Golden Bachelor,” which documented the duo getting engaged in the final episode before they tied the knot in front of the cameras in a broadcasted special in January 2024.
However, just three months after their wedding, they announced in a joint appearance on “Good Morning America” that their marriage was over—with Turner later revealing that he had been diagnosed with Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia a few weeks before they decided to divorce.
“As Theresa and I were trying very hard to find our lifestyle and where we were going to live and how we were going to make our life work, I was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer,” he told People in December 2024.
Turner explained that his diagnosis made him rethink the priorities in his life—specifically his plans to leave his home in Indiana in order to relocate to Charleston with Nist, who was living in New Jersey when they wed.
“I wanted my life to continue on as normal as possible, and that led me to believing that as normal as possible more meant spending time with my family, my two daughters, my two son-in-laws, my granddaughters,” he said. “And the importance of finding the way with Theresa was still there, but it became less of a priority.”
Speaking to the same outlet, Nist said that Turner had told her he was “sick” of his lake house in Hudson, IN, and wanted a change—only to then U-turn on that view when he returned to the property after their whirlwind courtship.
“That was the plan. I was selling my home. He was selling his home,” Nist said. “[But] Gerry, after he got back home, he kind of changed his mind.
“He said, ‘No, let’s do it six weeks here and six weeks there.’ And I didn’t want to do that. I really wanted a home together. I wanted the joy of being in a home together and designing a home together. I really thought that was going to be phenomenal. I was looking forward to that so much.”
And, the drama continues to unfold after Turner released his new memoir, “Golden Years: What I’ve Learned From Love, Loss, and Reality TV,” in which he opened up about their breakup and accused his ex of making him sleep on the couch.
Nist hit back at the claims during an episode of the “Dear Shandy” podcast, sharing a brutal message with her former spouse in which she accused him of never really being in love with her.
“You did me no favors by marrying a woman that you did not want to marry,” she said. “You should not. You should have called off the wedding. No matter that we were on TV, that didn’t matter. This was our lives. You should have stopped it.”
In his book, Turner described his first trip to Nist’s New Jersey home, which was a mere five days after their wedding.
He claimed that she asked him to sleep on the couch and “ignored opportunities for intimacy.”

However, Nist refuted the claims, describing her own version of that night and insisting: “We slept together the first night,” before adding that she told her then-husband she didn’t sleep well because the bed was not large enough for the both of them.
She added, “He said, ‘Oh, I can sleep on the couch if you want me to.’ He offered to sleep on the couch. I did not ask him to sleep on the couch. And I said, ‘Oh, Gerry, would you?’ I said, ‘I would appreciate it so much.’ Because I knew I was never going to get another bit of sleep the whole time he was there.”
And although Nist insisted she renovated her primary bedroom so that they could sleep together, she said it was already too late.
It is unclear what prompted Turner to choose to put his Indiana property on the market in the wake of the divorce—or whether he has plans to relocate Charleston as he had originally intended.
According to property records, Turner snapped up the property in 2020 for $181,250.
The dwelling comes complete with four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and sprawls across 2,624 square feet. It is being offered “mostly furnished with a few exclusions,” according to the description.
The listing, which was held by Daniel Orlando with The Anchor and Arbor Team, describes the home as having been “exceptionally well cared for” and emphasizes that there are “no additional steps needed to get to the water edge.”
Just steps away from the lake, the expansive home features a porch with several seating areas and stunning views of the water.
Upon entering the home, guests are greeted with an open floor plan that blends the kitchen and living area.
The lower-level flooring is wood, and the living room features glass doors that allow natural light to flood inside and open up to the deck.
The custom kitchen boasts “dovetail drawers, granite countertops, and bar seating for four.”
Moving upstairs, there are four “generously-sized” bedrooms that all come complete with queen beds.
The main bedroom features cathedral ceilings, a walk-in closet, and a main bathroom with a walk-in shower.
This room also offers sweeping views of the water.
