Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is now arguably the league's best scorer. He always plays against the best defenders of their opponents. Against the Golden State Warriors, SGA usually plays against multiple matchups, but he always seems to face Draymond Green in the most crucial possessions.
In the Saturday night game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Warriors, Gilgeous-Alexander hit a crucial three-pointer against Green. It was one of the most impressive plays of the night because of the degree of difficulty with his step-back three.
SGA knows the significance of beating Draymond Green
When playing against a defender of Green's caliber, it is hard to win the matchup. Only the best offensive players stand out against him, and SGA is arguably the very best the NBA has to offer today. This was evident during the dagger three-pointer he hit, as he truly outclassed the Warriors' stopper.
Unfortunately for Green, Gilgeous-Alexander has a mastery over his dribble moves, as he lulled Green to sleep. It was such a superb play from the reigning MVP, proving that he can beat any defender put in front of him.

Gilgeous-Alexander knows that it is hard to beat someone like Green. He welcomes those moments because he knows that a generational defender like Draymond is hard to beat.
"Multiple DPOYs. Multiple Defensive Teams. Multiple championships. He’s been the anchor to their championship defense for a decade. You don’t get many better looks than that as an offensive player. It was great. It was fun," Gilgeous-Alexander said after hitting the shot over Green.
Moving forward, Gilgeous-Alexander will keep playing against some of the best defenders in the league. He is ready to keep beating them when he is in front of them. This will be challenging, but he has the talent and bravery to keep fighting.
