The New York Giants will begin the 2025 NFL season with a divisional matchup.
According to multiple reports, the Giants will visit the Washington Commanders for Week 1 of the season.
This news was first reported by Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com and confirmed by Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports.
New York will get a tough test right off the bat as the Commanders reached the NFC Championship game last season.
They eventually lost to the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, but the emergence of Jayden Daniels changed the entire perception of the organization.
While the Giants were swept by the Commanders during the 2024 season, they won the previous three contests before that.
Despite coming off a 3-14 season, the Giants are looking to expedite the rebuild after adding Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart during the NFL Draft.
Either way, this should be a good litmus test for the Giants to begin the season.
