Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is inching closer to a return.
After suffering a strained hamstring in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Curry has been cleared for light on-court workouts, according to a new report from The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.
“Steph Curry has been cleared to participate in light on-court workouts, including shooting drills, one week after the Golden State Warriors star suffered a strained hamstring,” Slater reported on Wednesday.
“Curry has been making minor progress each day. He was back on the court this past Saturday, going through a medium-speed workout, trying to keep his rhythm and conditioning as best as possible.”
“Curry will be re-evaluated Saturday, the Warriors said in a statement, which would come one day before the team’s potential Game 6,” Slater wrote.

The outcome of Game 5 on Wednesday night in Minnesota is pivotal. A loss would end the Warriors’ season, allowing Curry to focus on a gradual offseason recovery. But a win could pave the way for Curry to return.
“If they get eliminated Wednesday night, Curry will spend the early part of his offseason slowly allowing his hamstring to heal,” Slater explained.
“But if they do win Wednesday, extending the series four extra days, I do believe he will test his hamstring to a greater degree during the long break to reappear Sunday.”
Curry’s potential return could be a game-changer for Golden State.
With the Warriors’ season hanging in the balance, all eyes will be on the team’s performance in Game 5.
