Giants, Raiders and Browns could have interest in Packers $68 million cut candidate

There will be no shortage of competition in the offensive line market in free agency and the New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders and Cleveland Browns are likely to get involved.

The Browns are a lock to have a need at guard after Wyatt Teller said he won't be back in 2026, and Cleveland could have as many as five starters to replace with their entire starting group upfront slated to hit free agency.

Las Vegas could have needs at guard, center and tackle. It remains to be seen how the new coaching staff views DJ Glaze at right tackle, Dylan Parham is a pending free agent at guard and Las Vegas may also have a need at the other guard spot or at center depending on where the team deploys Jackson Powers-Johnson.

In New York, one guard spot might open up if the Giants don't bring Greg Van Roten back. We wouldn't be surprised to see the Giants replace John Michael Schmitz at center, either.

With all three teams having a need at guard and/or center, we would suspect they will show interest in Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins, who is viewed as a cut candidate by USA TODAY's Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz.

Green Bay might like to see how the two-time Pro Bowl selection at left guard might fare in a full season at center after his 2025 campaign was cut short by a fractured fibula in Week 10. But with Jenkins carrying a $24.3 cap hit next season, the experiment seems destined to end here. Green Bay can recoup $19.5 million by cutting ties here, a move that might rise to the level of necessity as the team navigates several substantial cap commitments in the coming years. Re-signing Sean Rhyan, who filled in for Jenkins down the stretch, could settle the question at the pivot.

Jenkins has spent the vast majority of his career playing at guard, where he was a two-time Pro Bowler, but he was moved to center last season.

The experiment went pretty well, with Jenkins posting Pro Football Focus grades of 72.5 in pass-blocking and 60.6 in run-blocking while allowing two sacks and 10 pressures in 10 games.

Jenkins saw his season end early due to a fractured fibula, and with a monster cap hit and the Packers' need for cap space, it's very conceivable he'll get the boot.

Because of his ability to play at guard and center, Jenkins would be an ideal fit for the Raiders, Giants and Browns. Jenkins also has experience playing at both tackle spots, so he could fill in there in a pinch, also.

When it comes to compensation, Jenkins should still do better than most free-agent offensive linemen, but given the fact he's coming off a serious injury and is now 30, he's not going to command a ton.
