Giants' Malik Nabers wishes Shedeur Sanders' NFL Draft fate was different after Jaxson Dart decision

When the New York Giants traded back into the first round to select a quarterback, many wondered whether they were coming up to get Shedeur Sanders.

It sounds like star wide receiver Malik Nabers may have been one of those.

Nabers, speaking with Carmelo Anthony on a new podcast episode, said that Sanders was "the talk of the top-2 QBs in his class."

The Giants didn't take Sanders, though. They selected Jaxson Dart No. 25 overall out of Ole Miss.

And 119 picks later, Sanders went to the Browns in the fifth round.

"There's no way in hell he goes fifth round," Nabers said.

'Melo added his take at that point.

"This is an attack on Prime," Anthony said, referring to Shedeur's father Deion.

Nabers is coming off a tremendous rookie season despite catching passes from the likes of Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock.

The Giants have upgraded their QB room this offseason with Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Dart.

It's interesting to hear the way Nabers defended Sanders, though.

There are likely a bunch of other NFL players who feel similarly, although it's a big deal at this point every time jumps to Sanders' defense.

Nabers will just have to learn to love Jaxson Dart instead, but he clearly thinks Sanders can make noise in Cleveland.
