The San Francisco Giants have proven to be better than expected this season. The team is 44-35 and holds the second National League Wild Card spot.
The Giants also recently picked up Rafael Devers in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, so they have also proven that they want to win this season and in future seasons.
They likely will be buyers at the trade deadline and look to reinforce their roster.
Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report listed eight potential suitors for Boston Red Sox starter Walker Buehler. The Giants were listed as the favorites.
"There is, however, the question of which starters manager Bob Melvin can trust after Logan Webb and Robbie Ray. To this end, Buehler would at least bring more upside than an aged Justin Verlander and Landen Roupp, and getting to pitch regularly at the offense-killing stadium that is Oracle Park could only help him unlock it," Rymer wrote.

The Giants have outperformed expectations this year, but could use one more starting pitcher.
Buehler is not having a good season with the Red Sox. He is 5-5 with a 6.29 ERA in 13 starts. However, he does have a track record of postseason dominance, so that should help him in terms of how many suitors he'll have.
The 30-year-old right-hander is a two-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, so he has the accolades to back up his success.
But the Giants could have a very strong rotation if they add him to the mix, and they could even have a better chance to run down the Los Angeles Dodgers and take the NL West for the first time since 2021.
It will be interesting to see how the Giants operate at the trade deadline.
