The San Francisco Giants have been one of the most consistent .500 teams over the last few years. And by doing that, it has not helped them get a solid draft pick.
However, they will be selecting fourth overall later this summer in the 2026 MLB Draft. The last time they had a pick within the top four was all the way back in 2018, when they selected catcher Joey Bart second overall.
That pick didn't necessarily work out for the team, so expect the front office to really study these draft prospects, especially when these draft prospects are getting toward the end of their seasons.

Giants linked to Yankees' top prospect's younger brother in latest mock
Over the years, the Giants have felt comfortable taking college prospects. Seven of their last eight first-round picks were all college athletes, but that could change.
There are multiple prep arms and bats that can make it a difficult decision. And Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter believes that the New York Yankees' top prospect's younger brother, Jacob Lombard, could be an excellent pick at No. 4.
"The further Lombard gets from his inconsistent showing on the summer showcase circuit last year, the more he again finds himself listed alongside the top-tier talent in the 2026 class. With 60-grade raw power, middle-of-the-order upside and a safe shortstop profile, there is enough upside here for the Giants to zero in, despite their inconsistent track record of developing infield talent."
Lombard has plenty of juice in his bat and has developed a little more speed this past year, which helps. Defensively, he has smooth hands and can get to balls deep in the holes.
He also has good arm strength, which helps him make the throws when he gets to the balls in the hole.
While San Francisco has struggled to develop infielders in the past, they may not need to do much with the Gulliver Prep shortstop.
