The New York Giants are making a change to the defensive coaching staff as the 2025 offseason gets under way.
After parting ways with defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson and safeties coach Mike Treier last week, the Giants have begun to fill those roles in the secondary.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Giants are hiring Marquand Manuel as their new defensive backs coach.
Certainly an intriguing addition to Shane Bowen's defensive staff, Manuel brings a lot of experience to the secondary.
A former sixth-round pick in the 2002 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals, Manuel spent eight seasons in the league as a safety with eight different teams from 2002-2009.
Here's a look at his coaching history before joining the Giants' staff:

The Giants secondary has a lot of pieces that need to be addressed. Deonte Banks hasn't turned into a No. 1 cornerback going into his third NFL season, and the depth behind him on the perimeter is lacking.
Meanwhile, the safety room could use some improvement as well as Tyler Nubin needs a running mate after his promising rookie season.
