St. John’s heading toward uncharted territory after return to national rankings

St. John’s played its way into first place in the Big East on Saturday night.

Two days later, a national ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 followed.

Now comes the hard part for the No. 20 Johnnies: Sustaining both accomplishments. Continuing to win as the hunter instead of the hunted. Not feeling too good about themselves.

The last time they were ranked, back in November, it was short-lived. St. John’s went 1-2 in the Bahamas, lasting two weeks in the national poll.
