The New York Giants have dropped their list of inactives and it has one surprise — and no, it isn't wide receiver Malik Nabers.
After a ton of uncertainty, Nabers is indeed active for the Week 1 contest. However, running back Najee Harris is not.
That's a surprise because the expectation was Harris would serve as the RB2 behind Cam Skattebo, or at least he would be part of a three-man rotation.
Here's the full list of inactives.
Giants' inactives for Week 1
RB Najee Harris
S Jason Pinnock
CB Nic Jones
OL J.C. Davis
WR Dalen Cambre
TE Thomas Fidone II
DL Bobby Jamison-Travis
With Harris inactive, the Giants are dressing Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary on Sunday night.
Why is Najee Harris inactive?
It isn't clear why Harris is not suiting up, but perhaps we'll get that answer after the game, when head coach John Harbaugh will address the media.
It's not like Harris hasn't had time to learn the playbook, and we know he's fully back from the torn Achilles he suffered last season.
New York and Dallas will kick off from MetLife Stadium on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. ET.
