This is the least-shocking news in a week of news-making from the Giants: Kicker Graham Gano on Wednesday was placed on injured reserve with a herniated disc in his neck.
This is the second time this season the 38-year-old kicker had to go on IR.
He missed time earlier with a strained groin.
Gano has made it into just five games this season. He missed a 45-yard field-goal attempt two weeks ago in a loss to the 49ers.
When Gano was injured the first time around, the Giants turned to Jude McAtamney, but he was released after missing two extra points in the 33-32 loss at Denver.
Younghoe Koo handled the placekicking duties for the Giants in last week’s 24-20 loss at Chicago.
Gano is signed through the 2026 season, but it is certainly possible that he has played in his last game for the team.
Giants veteran kicker Graham Gano was placed on injured reserve with a herniated disc in his neck. APThere was a good sign for the defense, with CB Paulson Adebo participating in practice on a limited basis for the first time since injuring his knee in Week 7 at Denver.

Adebo has missed the past three games, all losses, forcing Deonte Banks to move into the starting lineup.
WR Darius Slayton did not practice. He tweaked a hamstring at Chicago but was able to return to finish the game. He said he is probable to play Sunday.
It is that time of year: Slayton was one of 10 players who did not participate in practice, a list that includes DL Chauncey Golston (neck), S Tyler Nubin (neck), DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches (toe), LB Bobby Okereke (shoulder) and OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux (shoulder). OL Evan Neal (hamstring), who has been inactive in all 10 games this season, also sat out. C John Michael Schmitz (shin) worked on a limited basis.
