Wilmer Flores had quite the run in San Francisco.
But now one of the favorites of Giants fans is moving on, and not to another part of MLB.
Instead, Flores is signing a contract to play in Mexico with Toros de Tijuana.
The Mexican Baseball League squad announced the news on social media:
🚨WILMER FLORES SE UNE A LA EMBESTIDA 🚨
Con una solida trayectoria en Grandes Ligas, un bat oportuno y con seguridad defensiva, Wilmer Flores llega a Toros de Tijuana

In the meantime, the Giants will at least partially miss Flores.
It still seems hard to believe, but the guy known for his time with the New York Mets ended up playing the same amount of seasons, six, with the Giants.
In the 2025 season, Flores batted .242 with 10 doubles, 16 home runs and 71 RBI. He had a scorching start to the season, when he was near the top of the RBI leaderboard for most of the first half.
In his Giants career, Flores played in 667 games. He batted .249, hit 99 doubles, slugged 92 homers and drove in 313 runs. His OPS in San Francisco was .747, better than what he did with the Mets.
Flores evidently didn't get the kind of offer he wanted to stick around in affiliated ball, and so he's heading down to Mexico to keep playing the game he loves.
