The New York Giants could lose one of their top executives after the New England Patriots announced their big move Sunday.
With Mike Vrabel expected to reunite in Foxboro as the new head coach of the Patriots, a high-ranking executive is expected to follow him.
According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, the Giants are expected to lose Ryan Cowden, the executive advisor to general manager Joe Schoen.
Robinson also reported that "I believe Eliot Wolf will retain personnel power. However, Cowden’s addition to the front office is Vrabel’s preference."
Cowden and Vrabel have a history after working together with the Tennessee Titans during the former's tenure as head coach in Nashville.
Cowden joined the Titans as the director of player personnel (2016-2017) before he was promoted to vice president of player personnel (2018-2022) — the majority of Vrabel's tenure.
Cowden also served as the interim general manager for the Titans after the organization fired Jon Robinson midway through the 2022 season.
The Giants then hired Cowden in his current role during the 2023 offseason and even interviewed Cowden for their own general manager vacancy during the 2022 offseason before eventually hiring Schoen.
