In Week 7, the New York Giants faced off against the Houston Texans. While they came into the game at 2-4, the Texans were not an easy opponent. But the Giants took it to overtime, where they came out on top.

In OT, running back Cam Skattebo had a long run to effectively end the game in the Giants' favor. But on the long run, he slowed down and slid down before he could try to gain extra yards and score the game-winning touchdown.

After the game, it was revealed to be an injury, which is, of course, worrying. But NFL Network's Mike Garafolo shared some good news Monday morning, as Skattebo avoided serious injury, and that he should be "OK" going forward.

Cam Skattebo injury scare revealed to not be that bad

"Giants RB Cam Skattebo told @DanGrazianoESPN he felt something in his hamstring on his 42-yard OT run. All indications this morning are he should be OK, especially with the team on a bye this weekend," Garafolo shared.

This is some good news for the Giants, especially with so much pessimism when it comes to injuries, given the season-ending nature of Jaxson Dart, Brian Burns, and Tremaine Edmunds' injuries this season.

Skattebo might've been in jeopardy of missing Week 8, but the team is on a bye, and this report indicates that he should be good to go for the team's Week 9 matchup coming out of the bye when they face the Philadelphia Eagles.

That will be a big game for the Giants, as the Eagles could be challenging them for the No. 1 spot in the NFC East, and for Skattebo, it's his first game back in Philadelphia since his gruesome season-ending injury last season.

The 4-2-1 Giants should be getting Skattebo for that matchup, as even though this injury scare for the Giants' RB was actually a hamstring issue, it's not a serious one, and Skattebo should be okay to play in Week 9 against the Eagles in two weeks.

After getting benched in Week 6, Skattebo turned things around with a big Week 7 performance in the overtime win over the Texans. Fortunately, it appears he's avoided serious injury as well, despite the scare at the end of his game-sealing run.
