Tom Brady’s partial ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders has thrown the seven-time Super Bowl champion into controversial discussions surrounding Shedeur Sanders’ epic NFL Draft slide. The Raiders passed on Sanders seven times in the draft, shocking many fans given Brady’s strong relationship with Sanders and his father, Deion.
Brady joined Logan Paul on his IMPAULSIVE podcast and doubled down on his lack of involvement in the Raiders’ evaluation of Shedeur and their decision not to draft him. The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers icon fired shots at Skip Bayless and the media for their rampant suggestions that Brady influenced Vegas’ decision not to select Shedeur.
“I wasn’t apart of any evaluation process,” Brady said. “That’s the problem with media. Everyone can say whatever the f–k they want. I actually texted Shedeur because I know him very well. I said, ‘Dude, whatever happens, wherever you go … that’s your first day. Day 2 matters more than the draft.’”
As long as Brady’s words of wisdom don’t fall on deaf ears, Shedeur can only benefit from the legendary quarterback’s advice. Shedeur has received some loud support as of late, contradicting the negative narratives that have followed the former Colorado superstar for the last few months.
With TB12 in his corner, Shedeur should have plenty of motivation to live up to his original expectations and prove the doubters wrong. On Paul’s podcast, Brady used himself as an example for Shedeur to follow.
“I was pick 199, so who could speak on it better than me,” Brady said. “Use it as motivation. You’re gonna get your chances, go take advantage of it.”
From a sixth-round pick to the greatest football player to ever live, Brady knows a thing or two about excelling as a late-round selection. Shedeur’s fifth-round status won’t mean a thing if he can block out the noise and become the best version of himself.
