The New York Giants have added a number of players with juice throughout the 2025 NFL Draft.
Kicking off their selections on Day 3, the Giants used the No. 105 overall pick on Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo.
Even though the Giants got a solid breakout campaign from 2024 fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy Jr. last season, it was clear New York was in the market for a complementary back to pair with the electric second-year runner.
Skattebo broke out in a big way during the 2024 college season, racking up 293 carries for 1,711 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns. On top of that, the 219-pound back was excellent as a receiver, posting 45 receptions for 605 yards and three receiving touchdowns in 2024, en route to a First-Team All-American nod.
Here's how the NFL experts graded the Giants' selection of Skattebo in the fourth round:
Giants NFL draft grades for Cam Skattebo
Ostly: "Skattebo is a powerful bowling ball of a runner with proven receiving skills. Fumbles are a concern from his college career but he'll make a good second option to Tyrone Tracy Jr. Considering the board and the Giants' needs on the roster, this feels like a bit of a luxury pick."
Trapasso: "Think David Montgomery 2.0. Squatty, tremendous lateral elusiveness. Contact balance galore. Runs with spectacular vision between the tackles. Clearly lacks speed. Emerged as a quality pass-catcher, too. Gritty yet athletic runner who will get more than what's blocked for him on a routine basis. Ideal pairing with the explosive Tyrone Tracy Jr."
Walter Cherepinsky, Walter Football: A+
Cherepinsky: "It’s amazing that Cam Skattebo was available in Round 4. Someone needs to do a collusion investigation on him falling. In all seriousness, I love this pick. It doesn’t fill a huge need, but Skattebo is one of the best players available. I thought he should have gone in Round 2."
