Giannis Antetokounmpo should team up with $215 million superstar, ex-NBA star says

Although they haven’t been eliminated yet, the Milwaukee Bucks might need to start looking to the future.

After going down 3-1 in a Game 4 loss against the Indiana Pacers, which saw Damian Lillard suffer a crushing Achilles tear, the Bucks could have their final game on Tuesday night. Of course, there is still some hope left for Milwaukee, considering it has Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The two-time MVP and 2021 Finals MVP has shown up for Milwaukee when it matters time after time in his career. However, as he stares down a first-round exit for the third straight year, he also might be staring down his final game in a Bucks uniform.

Speculation about Antetokounmpo’s future has been loud throughout the past couple of seasons. Now, with Lillard likely missing most or all of next season, Antetokounmpo’s path to a title in Milwaukee is hard to find.

Former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer is one of many who have seen the bleak future in Milwaukee. With nothing left to prove for the Bucks, it might be time for Antetokounmpo to form a superstar duo elsewhere.

“If I’m Giannis and I don’t want to stay in Milwaukee, maybe play with Luka, maybe go to L.A. if he wants to win,” Boozer said.

Antetokounmpo would be far from the first superstar to head to the bright lights of Los Angeles to pursue a championship. While he has been clear about his love for Milwaukee throughout his career, Antetokounmpo hasn’t exactly shot down rumors about his interest in playing in a big market.

Obviously, getting Antetokounmpo to the Lakers would be a tough task, but it might not be surprising that the former MVP would want a big shakeup. While Bucks fans are clinging to hope that their star will stick around, Tuesday night could be the end of an era.
