Since the beginning of the 2025–26 NBA season, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have been the subject of trade rumors. With a slow 11-18 start to the year, however, the trade talks have started to gain momentum. One of the teams linked to them is the Miami Heat.
There have been talks that the Heat could be interested in trading for Antetokounmpo. But given how skilled and talented the Greek Freak is, he could demand a handful of assets from Miami. The Bucks star's former teammate, Jeff Teague, offered an interesting take on the situation.
According to Teague, he sees Kel'el Ware, the young Heat center, as a potential trade piece for them to acquire a star. There have been reports that Ware is considered an untouchable in the trade market. However, the one-time All-Star thinks his name could be part of a trade package to acquire Antetokounmpo.

Teague spoke about it on the latest episode of his show, "Club 520 podcast." The former NBA star believes Ware shouldn't be seen as an untouchable due to his recent run of games. This might help the Heat build a trade package for the Bucks.

“He’s very negotiable. Giannis is sitting there somewhere,” Teague said. “Milwaukee going to want Kel’el Ware, Tyler Herro, and Jaime Jaquez.”Ware, who is in a rookie deal and is earning $4,443,360 this season, has been balling out the past three games. He's averaging 24.7 points and 15.0 rebounds on 75.0% shooting from three. He's seen as a future star due to his recent performance.
However, if the Heat wants to contend for a title while Bam Adebayo is still in his prime, they could trade their assets to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Michael Scotto names 3 Heat players for a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade package
According to NBA insider Michael Scotto, rival executives believe the Milwaukee Bucks plan to move Giannis Antetokounmpo soon. But teams like the Miami Heat still monitor the Greek star's situation in Milwaukee.
Scotto also mentioned three Heat players who could be part of a potential trade package.
“Miami has gauged the trade market on small forward Andrew Wiggins, who has a $30.17 million player option for the 2026-27 season,” Scotto wrote. “Tyler Herro, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, has maintained his All-Star form from last season after missing the first 17 games of the season. Terry Rozier’s expiring $26.64 million contract also looms.”Giannis Antetokounmpo hasn't demanded to be traded by the Bucks. However, many feel that his tenure in Milwaukee has begun to hang by a thread as their record deteriorates. Trade rumors have been fueled by the team's four losses in its last five games.
