The Charlotte Hornets didn't have an All-Star in the 2025-26 season.
However, their star rookie Kon Knueppel was a Hornets' ambassador this past weekend, representing Charlotte in the NBA Three-point contest and the Rising Stars Challenge.
With the opportunity came a chance to network with other NBA personnel, including other players.
One of the players Knueppel linked up with was former two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks.
In the video, Knueppel is seen getting advice from Antetokounmpo, as the former NBA Champion also praised one of the league's best rookies.
Antetokounmpo said: "You're probably one of the smartest rookies I've ever seen... one of the most competitive players that I've seen as a rookie. You already got it, and you're only gonna get better."
Although the conversation certainly offered Knueppel with plenty of insight, it's safe to say that Knueppel is on the right track.
The Duke alum is currently averaging 18.9 points per game, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Not to mention, his incredible efficiency. Knueppel is nearing 50/40/90 shooting splits as a rookie, a feat that has never been accomplished in NBA history.
Following the conversation, Knueppel spoke to the camera about the feel-good moment. While it's always nice to earn respect and praise from a former MVP, Antetokounmpo's words meant more to Knueppel, considering he grew up in Milwaukee and was a huge Bucks fan before making it to the NBA.
Knueppel and the Hornets return to action Friday, Feb. 19. As for Giannis and the Bucks, they'll resume play Saturday.
