Why Buffon chose Neymar

Buffon explained his choice, saying Neymar’s talent and personality stood out among generations of elite footballers.

“I’ve played with Zidane, Ronaldo, Messi, Cristiano, and Iniesta,” Buffon said. “But to pick one? Neymar.

"For the player and the person he is, he should have won five Ballons d’Or.”

Neymar’s peak at Barcelona and his record-breaking move to PSG showcased his immense skill.

Buffon believes the Brazilian deserved more recognition for his abilities, especially considering his unmatched creativity and flair on the pitch.

However, Neymar’s career has been marked by missed opportunities. Despite finishing third in the Ballon d’Or race twice (2015 and 2017), he has not come close to winning since.

His recent move to Al-Hilal has also been overshadowed by injuries and off-field controversies.
