The Los Angeles Rams are in the thick of an NFC West race in which all four teams sport a record of 5-5 or better. The Rams have won three of their last four games, and are currently a game behind the Arizona Cardinals for first place in the division. Their latest contest against the New England Patriots saw their star quarterback move up NFL record books.
Stafford threw four touchdown passes against New England, marking the 17th time in which he has done that. In doing so, Stafford surpassed two-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger for the seventh-most such games in history. He is also now tied with the likes of Johnny Unitas, Patrick Mahomes, and Russell Wilson with the same number of four-touchdown games, and they are all tied for second-place amongst active quarterbacks behind Aaron Rodgers, who has 33.
This sparks the question that has been asked a lot in recent years - is Matthew Stafford a Hall of Famer? He's got the numbers - 10th in passing yards and touchdowns, ninth in completions. He's also got the hardware after winning a Super Bowl. If anything, it would be somewhat difficult to make the argument that Stafford isn't a Hall of Famer considering all he has accomplished on an individual level.
