Georgia star Oscar Delp sees his dog steal the NFL Draft spotlight during unforgettable moment

1 hour ago 2

Oscar Delp waited to hear his name called during the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday night. For the Georgia Bulldogs tight end, the moment was a perfect celebration of his career in Athens and won't be forgotten for years to come.

Not because he was taken by the New Orleans Saints with the No. 73 overall pick, but because of how his welcome to the NFL moment went down. As Delp's family and friends gathered on the couch awaiting the announcement of a lifetime, his chocolate lab just wanted a spot to lay down. There was a look of concern on the dog's face as Delp celebrated the good news.

The moment has since gone viral and should live in the viral space for future draft conversations.

At 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Delp was a reliable option during his time at Georgia. He played in all 14 games (10 starts) last year during the Bulldogs College Football Playoff run. The former No. 1 tight end in the nation had 70 receptions for 854 yards and nine touchdowns during his career.

Delp was also honored as a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, recognizing an individual as the absolute best in the country for his academic success, football performance and exemplary community leadership.
